Curbed New York

Crowne Plaza HY36 officially debuted in January, a sleek newcomer in the Hudson Yards special district. Designed by Stonehill Taylor, its industrial exterior was inspired by architectural gems like Grand Central and Penn Stations. Inside, a cascading 50-foot-tall light fixture made up of individual black-and-orange lamps makes a dramatic first impression, along with blue and white mosaic-tiled floors and subway-tiled walls. K&Co. designed the modern interiors, which feature thoughtful elements like retractable bed lights in rooms, and a retractable skylight roof at the new TGA restaurant. Other notable aspects include Peloton bikes and Ample Woodway treadmills in the fitness center, and aromatherapy kits and sheets made from eucalyptus trees in each bedroom.
