Stonehill Taylor partnered with Aspen Skiing Company on the design of the brand new99-room family-friendly Limelight Hotel Snowmass with ski-in, ski-out access to Snowmass Mountain. With the Snowmass Mountain Club, restaurant and bar, pool terrace, meeting spaces, and fitness center with a five-story indoor rock-climbing wall, the property is a much-needed addition to the town’s hospitality scene. The firm took inspiration for the design from the quiet years, the period post Sherman Silver Act when the area focused on ranching after the demonetization of silver and closing of the local silver mines. This inspiration manifests itself in subtle ranch-related motifs peppered throughout the property. With an artful treatment of natural materials and a palette of neutral mix of grey with earthy wood tones and lively accents, the property captures the energy of an active mountain lifestyle.
