New York Marriott Marquis

New York, NY

For the renovation of the Marriott Marquis public spaces, Stonehill Taylor did a complete overhaul of the 8thFloorlobby and reception, lounge areas, food & beverage spaces, and over 110,000 SF of meeting and event spaces. The firm was challenged to create spaces that simultaneously feed off the energy of the hotel’s outdoor surroundings, while providing a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets below. Drawing from the full 360 degrees of billboard light seen in nearby Times Square, the hotel interiors act as a “Kaleidoscope of Energy” with the reflections, flow of energy, and colors of Times Square balancing the elegant playfulness and interactive experiences.

Of note, the architectural team relocated the reception, expanded the 9th floor bridge for additional event space, added a new bar underneath, and created a new concierge lounge called the M Club.
