For the Holston House hotel, Stonehill Taylor designed a multi-level dining experience inspired by the building’s historic elements with layered details informed by Nashville’s famous music industry and famed leather artisanal goods. Overlooking the lobby is Bar Tenn, where a performance area is surrounded by built-in and information seating for guests to enjoy live music. Drapery panels, antique mirrors, and the restored rosette-coffered ceiling and molding accents create a mysterious speakeasy-like setting. A local found, vintage piano stands as the bar’s focal point, repurposed as a drink railing. The hotel’s three-meal restaurant, Tenn, has a casual atmosphere with a dark finished ceiling, dome ceiling pendants, and comfortable brown leather banquettes. Among the hotel’s most striking features is its rooftop bar, Tenn on Top, complete with a 3,650-square-foot and is completed by a glass railing framing the southern and eastern ends of the deck, offering spectacular unobstructed views.
