Holston House

Nashville, TN

Interior Design

Stonehill Taylor completed the conversion of a historic 1920’s building into a new boutique hotel, Holston House. Boasting two live music venues and a 3,650 SF rooftop pool, Holston House, owned by HRI, will be a part of the Hyatt Unbound collection of unique properties.

Throughout the design of the 191 rooms and public spaces, Stonehill Taylor preserved many of the historic elements and layered a design concept informed by Nashville’s famous music industry and flair. Stonehill Taylor pulled from diverse, Nashville-based inspirations, such as the leather goods of 20th-century Italian-born designer Peter Nappi and the honest, raw sounds of musicians Jack White and the late Johnny Cash. The aspiration was to create an environment where such larger-than-life figures would feel at home by mastering a sense of elegance mixed with authenticity. This ambition manifested itself in such design touches as classic overdyed rugs, leather accents, and wood features.
