Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel
New York, NY
Architecture, Interior Design
Just steps from the Chelsea Flower District, The Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel marks the newest New York branch of the acclaimed international brand. For the interior design, New York-based design firm Stonehill Taylor played on the dichotomy of the hotel’s surroundings: creating the feeling of venturing into a secret garden tucked away in a decidedly industrial neighborhood.
Situated at the site of the famed former Chelsea Antiques Garage, the hotel’s interiors channel the site’s history. Stonehill Taylor layered in hidden treasures throughout the public spaces (including restaurant and bar, ballroom and meeting spaces, and rooftop pool, bar, and lounge) , 341 guestrooms, and eight suites. Vintage-inspired objects create anachronistic moments, leading guests through an experience of wonder and discovery.
