NYU Langone Medical Center Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery
New York, NY
Architecture
As part of a strategic master plan at the main campus and to integrate the Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery (IRPS) with the Department of Plastics, a 14,000 s.f. first floor and lower level condominium space was purchased by NYULMC within a newly constructed 12-story residential building. The existing building offers the opportunity to locate two plastic surgery programs within a single location while maintaining separate identities. The first floor program provides offices and exam rooms for Faculty Group Practice physicians and connects with a shared (Quad A) operating suite on the first floor with supporting systems located in the lower level mechanical equipment room. The lower level IRPS program includes waiting / reception areas, a photography studio, surgical team meeting spaces, administrative offices, and a dental orthodontics clinic area to support facial reconstructions.
