Thompson Central Park

New York, NY

Interior Design

Located just steps from Central Park and Carnegie Hall, the new 587-room Thompson Central Park New York was the result of a multiphase renovation and transformation of the former Parker Hotel. The design draws from the surrounding neighborhood creating a harmonious scheme that is sophisticated yet unpretentious, sleek yet relaxed. The hotel offers Thompson Tower guestrooms in both single-bay and double-bay configurations, on floors five through 25, while Upper Stories accommodations, a collection of 174 luxurious guestrooms and suites, populate floors 26 through 33, the hotel’s higher floors.

Designing for sophisticated travelers, Stonehill Taylor wove in classic elements that are reflected in sculptural, contemporary ways to connect with the iconic style of Manhattan. Color palettes of earthy tones and shades of blues and greens create a calming atmosphere and artful moments and luxe materials add a modern and sleek aesthetic. The finishes in Upper Stories accommodations are enhanced from Thompson Tower rooms and include living room and dining areas. The functionality of the spaces accompanied by luxurious residential qualities, such as a custom wet bar and textured wallcovering, create an unparalleled guest experience.
